Ukulele Boot Camp

Train your hands to fret, pluck, and strum efficiently while singing timeless pop and rock songs! You will learn these physical techniques and, as a bonus, be exposed to music theory concepts like chord spelling, voice-leading, chord progressions, keys, and rhythm. Songs will include classics like: “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Rocket Man,” “Count On Me,” “Price Tag,” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine” just to name a few. This ukulele training event is designed for players with no experience playing a fretted instrument or reading music. All chords will be taught with ukulele neck diagrams. More experienced players will still benefit from the exercises in this training. 

Ted Stafford is a New York State certified music teacher with an MA in classical guitar performance from Brooklyn College. He has been training fourth and sixth-graders on the ukulele for over ten years.
