The microphone is an essential part of singing in cabaret and jazz clubs. Most singers have no knowledge of how to properly use one. They depend on someone else to make those crucial decisions for them.
We are going to do a deep dive on mic technique that will include individual attention to each performer's specific needs.
We'll cover wired and wireless microphones.
We will talk about and practice critical listening. We'll attempt to answer the question "what am I listening for?" in my monitor and start to build a relationship between a singer and their monitor.
In the end, you'll be comfortable in any venue, with any microphone and you'll be able to ask any tech director for what you need to perform at your best.
