Pardon My French with Jean-Pierre Perreaux

You have heard his voice  thousands of times over the past 20 years introducing performers from Donna McKecknie to Annie Ross and most likely - You!. With his French accent he has welcomed  performers to the stages at 88's, Arci's Place, the Firebird, Mama Rose, the Encore, the Metropolitan Room and most recently the Beechman theater.

Today, Jean-Pierre Perreaux (11 time MAC Award and Bistro Award winner for Best Technical Direction) is giving you his advice and sharing his authenticity on French pronunciation in songs.

After hearing many times the first line of "La Vie En Rose" which should say "Des yeux qui font baisser les miens" and too often hearing "des yeux qui font baiser les miens"  he is offering his "French as a first language" expertise. Tis a drastic difference to begin the Classic Edith Piaf song by saying "eyes that make mine lower" to " eyes that make mine F#*K "  (too many times to count!)

JP would love to help you avoid this catastrophe, sound as beautiful in French as you do in English and -by offering this skill- maintain his own sanity for these last few months of Covid!
